Seventeen is the debut single from sixteen year old Josh Geoghegan. Josh is one of our brilliant up and coming singer-songwriters. The first of many tracks in his repertoire, 'Seventeen' draws on indie sounds of the mid 90's (Mazzy Star, Elliott Smith etc...) to create a lush soundscape for a song about the trials of young love. Keep an ear out for more indie classics from this superb young songwriter. Proceeds from this track will go to Dementia Research Australia. Germinate Records is a label that focusses on giving back to the community while nurturing the talents of young artists, producers and engineers. Following on from the debut release single, 2020’s Throw Some Dice by Chelsea Valarie, The Germinate One EP highlights the incredible talents of four young artists from Australia's Northern NSW & Gold Coast regions; Ronan Green, Jemma McNicoll, Jye Walker and Chelsea Valarie. The EP features stunning offerings from each artist across Pop, Neo Soul/R&B and Singer Songwriter genres.

Funded by the good folks at Lindisfarne School, Germinate Records will donate all income from this release to important cancer research (Cancer Council & Childrens Tumor Foundation) as well as towards helping more young people establish themselves in the music industry.

In her second release, Take You Anywhere, Chelsea Valarie layers lush vocals over serious grooves and wailing talkbox guitars in a song about a turning point in a relationship. Newcomer Ronan Green summons the pop-gods in his infectiously hooky tune In This Little Life. Jemma Mcnicoll’s ballad One Sided Love showcases her emotional range and vocal power in a stunning performance backed by whirring Hammond organ and piano. Jye Walker’s Emotions Attached is as energetic as it is brooding with thumping drums & driving piano in an incredibly mature first effort from this relatively new songwriter.

You would never guess that these songs were written and performed by such young artists, each song speaks for itself.
